Stakeholders
We have a variety of stakeholders who provide data and/or advise on our student development and education.
Want to get involved?
Student Projects
If you are interested in providing a student project, the following should be true:
- You or your company own the data and have the right to share it.
- The data could be helpful in solving a real-world problem.
- The data can be made publicly available after the student projects are complete.
- You can commit to interacting with the students during the 5-week summer research program to answer questions and provide feedback.
Submitting a Dataset
Considering submitting a dataset? Things to keep in mind are as follows:
- Have the same time step size / frequency
- For process data, include all variables that are related to the system and a narrative of the approximate hydraulic retention time between sensors.
- For lab data, specify how the sample was collected (e.g., 24-hour flow or time composite, grab sample) and how outliers are treated (e.g., "scratched", zeroed, included).
- Avoid any additional or excess formatting of Excel spreadsheets. Ideally, data would be saved in .CSV format.
- Avoid any averaging or interpolating of data. If possible use data that includes all recorded observations.
- Include in-control operating conditions and specify if out-of-control or abnormal operating conditions are present.
- Include a contact within the agency that is familiar with the system at the time the data was collected.
